The Ingham County Drain Commissioner’s Office provides construction, maintenance and improvement of County public storm drains. They are responsible for the legal establishment and administration of drainage districts and assess benefited property owners to pay for costs of the drains. Other responsibilities include lake level control, soil erosion control (through issuance of permits), acting as the County Board of Public Works and review of proposed subdivision plats.
